Villaverde Hotel&Resort Wellness&Golf

Design: ALESSIO PRINCIC AND PARTNERS Photo: LUCIANO BUSANI Villaverde Hotel&Resort Wellness&Golf is an outstanding structure situated amidst the Fagagna valleys, immersed in greenery and just a few kilometres from the city of Udine. The project was designed by the Udine-based Princic & Partners studio and was completed in 2015. This was an ambitious project, in which every element was conceived and structured to optimise energy consumption, to create maximum structural interaction and sustainability within the natural area where it was to be built. Technology and architecture are at one with the environment: the solar panel system used in the car parking structure and the use of turf across the roofing of the entire complex to perfectly integrate it into the landscape and optimise the reduction of heat dispersion from the building, are both excellent examples of this commitment. Environmental sustainability was at the heart of this project, which, in turn was awarded Class A energy status for all of its rooms. Attention to the environment that can also clearly be seen in the choice of colours and interior furnishing solutions, intended to enrich the experience of the guests staying at the structure by providing them with constant contact with the surrounding landscape. Sustainability but also and above all well-being: these are the key aspects of the project, conceived as a place to bring people together to re-find the balance between body and mind, with the help of the spa and vast golf course. Ceramica Vogue glazed stoneware tiles were chosen for a number of rooms at the Villaverde Hotel&Resort Wellness&Golf. Specifically, the indoor and outdoor swimming pools were tiled with Bump pool tiles from the Vogue Pool Collection. This tiling solution was ideal for the swimming pools owing to its degree of non-slip when barefoot, which in turn makes it ideal for pool edges and relevant spaces within the pool itself. The colour BP Cobalto was chosen by the Princic & Partners studio, an intense shade able to create interesting light reflections when interacting with the water. Ceramica Vogue Pool Bump tiles measuring 10x20 cm were used for this project. The Princic & Partners studio also chose to use Ceramica Vogue glazed stoneware TR Bisello bevelled-edge tiles in a vibrant shade of Mandarino for the corridors within the hotel structure. The rectangular solid coloured tiles, measuring 10x20 cm to be laid vertically, have a glossy finish and are part of the Trasparenze collection. The glossy and shiny effect deliver both light and colour to these corridors, which are immaculately exalted by the natural light streaming in from the glass walls.
